Salterra will welcome its first guests in March 2025. Tucked along the southern end of South Caicos, on the pristine shores of Salterra Beach, the resort sits on an untouched stretch of coastline—secluded, unspoiled, and serene.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE DESIGN OF THE ROOMS AND SUITES?
Salterra’s design is inspired by the island’s historic salt ponds, or salinas, which once made South Caicos a hub for salt production. The color palette, textures, and materials reflect the surrounding landscape, creating an organic sense of place. Even our name—Salterra, meaning 'Land of Salt'—embodies this deep connection to nature and the island’s storied past.
HOW MANY DINING OPTIONS DO YOU HAVE, AND WHICH ARE YOUR FAVORITE SPACES?
We have six distinct dining experiences:
Cobo Bar & Grill – Latin-inspired cuisine, right on the beach.
Sisal – A chic lobby bar with small bites and handcrafted cocktails.
Flamingo Café – Smoothies, baked goods, gelato, and light bites.
Regatta – British-Caribbean fusion, with stunning ocean views.
Brine – Signature fine dining, with a menu inspired by salt-brining techniques.
Jack & Jenny’s – A food truck featuring globally inspired street food.
For an elevated dining experience, Brine is a must-visit. The five- and seven-course tasting menus are exceptional, and the sunset views over the salinas are unforgettable.
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR SIGNATURE DISHES?
One standout from the Brine menu is the Belle Sound Slow-Braised Beef Cheeks, paired with cracked conch, roasted root vegetables, and a rich beef broth. We also have a world-class pastry chef who creates incredible croissants and hosts interactive chocolate masterclasses, a guest favorite.

The deck at Regatta is spectacular. You’re suspended above the pool, with a perfect ocean breeze and panoramic views of the turquoise waters that Turks and Caicos is famous for.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE NOT-TO-MISS GUEST EXPERIENCES AT THE RESORT AND ON THE ISLAND?
Adventures by Salterra is our in-house watersports and excursions team, offering everything from snorkeling and diving to guided bone fishing. One experience that stands out is the Coral Reef Restoration Experience, where guests can actively participate in our conservation efforts, learn about our partnership with the School for Field Studies, and contribute to preserving South Caicos’ incredible marine life.
THE SPA AT SALTERRA IS INCREDIBLE. CAN YOU SHARE WHAT SETS IT APART AND YOUR FAVORITE TREATMENT?
The Spa at Salterra is a sanctuary of relaxation, blending modern wellness with Caribbean traditions. It features eight treatment rooms, couples' suites with private lanais, an outdoor pool and lounge, and a full thermal experience—including a sauna, steam room, hammam, and large social pool. One of my favorite treatments is our halotherapy room, which harnesses the natural benefits of salt to promote deep relaxation and respiratory wellness.
WHAT ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF SO FAR AT THE RESORT?
It’s impossible to pick just one thing. Sharing this incredible place with my two daughters is deeply meaningful because I get to see the world through their eyes. Our team of associates—who have come from all over the world—have created something truly special for our guests and I am so proud of the work they have done to bring Salterra to life. And being part of the South Caicos community is an honor. This island is unlike anywhere else in the world.
