ABOUT THE POSITION

We are looking for highly motivated candidates with five or more years of experience in the travel industry to apply to join our Travel department as an Air Agent. The candidate must be able to provide premium service to our member community of high-net-worth families and individuals. The Air Agent will handle airline ticketing and consulting, and will report to the Director of Travel.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide appropriate and detailed information regarding flights, fares, destinations, and special offers and products

  • Work closely with the Travel department on member itineraries

  • Effectively communicate with members and/or assistants in a professional manner

  • Assist with logistical aspects when needed

  • Assist with greeter confirmations when needed

  • Stay current on new airline trends and news

  • Reconfirm all aspects of flights, no matter how big or small

  • Attend conferences (as scheduled by the Director of Travel)

  • Maintain current records of bookings, payments, transactions, phone calls, emails, CRM activity, and meetings

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least five years of experience working for a retail travel agency air department or commercial airline ticketing department

  • Five years or more working with the Sabre reservation system

  • Ability to source availability on all IATA-approved airlines

  • A deep understanding of airport and city codes and the geography associated with their locations

    • This applies to both commercial airports and FBO locations servicing private planes.

  • An understanding of airplane types, airline alliance programs, seat maps, and seat types is a must

  • A deep knowledge of fare construction and pricing is imperative, including international tariffs, fare breaking, HIPs, etc.

  • A solid understanding of ticket issuance, cancellations, refunding, and changing tickets is very important

    • Phase 4 and Phase 3.5 issuance is important

  • Ability to consult with members (whether over email or phone) and book airline tickets based on their individual needs

  • Ability to quality control all air bookings and support a busy Travel department

  • Proficiency with electronic resources, such as Outlook, Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is required

  • Strong communication, organizational, decision-making, and interpersonal skills are a bonus

  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure

  • Work well in a team setting and be able to assist with other items if necessary

SALARY RANGE + BENEFITS 

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000   

After 90 days of employment, employees are eligible for: 

  • Company-paid medical and dental benefits 

  • Company-matched 401(k), up to 6% of salary matched by Four Hundred 

  • Paid time off (per year): 

  • 12 vacation days 

  • 9 bank holidays 

  • 6 sick days 

  • $75 per month stipend towards phone bill coverage 

After first year of employment, employees are eligible for: 

  • Annual incentive bonus, 3% of annual base salary
